Hallmark’s Summer Nights 2022 season is well underway!!! “Moriah’s Lighthouse” is the third movie of the June 2022 Summer Nights season. This movie is set in France and the scenery is straight out of a fairytale. And even more than the scenery, there’s a sweet little love story here, too! “Moriah’s Lighthouse” movie review has all the details you need about the location of this movie and so much more!

We are well into our Hallmark June Summer Nights Movies! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I really and truly enjoy Hallmark’s Summer movies. The Christmas movies will always have first place in my heart, but the Summer movies are a lot of fun. And, generally, in the Summer Nights movies, you get to see a lot of great scenery and have summer themes throughout the movies! “Moriah’s Lighthouse” wasn’t necessarily a summer-themed movie, but man, it did NOT disappoint on the scenery. My goodness! It’s set in France and it’s just gorgeous!

My Review:

First and foremost, the scenery and setting of this movie is absolutely fantastic and magical. Going to this part of France is now on my bucket list in life, because it was just like a fairytale level of magic in the town where they filmed this movie. I like the movie as well. I’m a big fan of Luke Macfarlane and I love his movies. Rachelle Lafevre was new to me, but I really enjoyed her as well! I enjoyed everyone having a French accent and when they spoke French as well.

The movie did seem to move a little slow to me. I liked all the parts, but it seemed like it just took a while to progress the story in each scene if that makes sense. In my mind I thought we were moving right along to the resolution and end of the movie… then realized there were another 45 minutes to go. Yikes. Having said that, the movie isn’t bad, I don’t want to give it a bad review. It was just not my favorite even with all the beautiful scenery it had going for it!

Do you love the stars of this movie?! Well, the guys interviewed Luke Macfarlane back in 2020, and it’s a gem! Of course, this was done long before this movie, but it’s still great to hear the guys and Luke Macfarlane get to know each other!

Location, Location, Location

Could this location be any more gorgeous??? “Moriah’s Lighthouse” was filmed in France, specifically in the province of Brittany. The lighthouse is actually in Ploumanac’h, which is a fishing village in the Brittany region of France as well. And the village is Rochefort-en-Terre, one of France’s most beautiful villages! I can’t believe it’s a real place you can visit, and it’s top of my list to go there when I’m traveling to France!

“Moriah’s Lighthouse” was actually based on a book series by Serena B. Miller. I actually read the books and they are a really great read! The beginning grabs you immediately and you just keep going! There are 3 books, or you can buy the “collection” all as one story, which is a little cheaper, and what I chose for my purchase. Serena B. Miller was new to me, but I’ll definitely be reading more of her series as time allows. I really enjoyed this one. And there’s so much more to the story than they could fit into the movie, of course!
