Game, Set, Love Movie Review

Hallmark’s 2022 Fall into Love movie season continues this week with “Game, Set, Love.” It’s a movie all about tennis and finding the right partner on and off the court. Let’s dive into the Game, Set, Love movie review and see how it turns out!

Richard Harmon gets ready to kiss Davida Williams in a scene from Game, Set, Love movie

We had another new movie premiere in the Fall into Love series this weekend! And while it didn’t necessarily have a ton to do with the Fall season, it did coincide with some of the biggest matches of the tennis US Open this weekend, which was a fun thing! So, even if tennis doesn’t scream Fall season and pumpkin spice, it was quite timely of Hallmark to schedule this movie for this weekend! Let’s get going on the Game, Set, Love movie review and see how it all turned out.

Richard Harmon and Davida Williams high five in a scene from Game, Set, Love movie

My Review:

I was incredibly skeptical going into this movie. A Fall season tennis movie? What in this world, Hallmark! But you know what? This movie worked for me! I kind of liked it! I was totally entertained the entire time and I really enjoyed the watch!

Davida Williams was great, and according to my research, this is the first Hallmark movie for her. I enjoyed her a ton and she’s just beautiful! I thought she had good chemistry with Richard Harmon, who I THOUGHT was also new to Hallmark. But I was wrong! He was in another Hallmark movie in 2012 and played a student in The Wishing Tree, which I’ve not seen, but now I want to!!

I loved the story, and even though you see it coming from a mile away, I was delighted that they ended up needing to be partners for the tournament. I loved that Davida Williams’ character wasn’t having any of Richard Harmon’s nonsense. That was super fun to watch.

I really enjoyed this movie and it was fun to watch. If you were skeptical like me, go ahead and watch it. It was a delightful time and I was a big fan of this movie. Let me know what you think when you watch it!

Location, Location, Location

“Game, Set, Love” was set in Atlanta, Georgia, and we had a lot of footage of the city of Atlanta during the movie! But the scenes of the movie were actually filmed in Canada in Vancouver, like most Hallmark movies are, and this was no different!

Fun Film Facts

The tennis legend, Venus Williams, is one of the Executive Producers of this movie! Like, the actual VENUS WILLIAMS! And it turns out she has a company that makes tennis clothes that are super cute and fashionable called EleVen. AND, the tennis outfits that Davida Williams wears in this movie (Like in the pic above)… are from that line of clothing! How fun is that?

Wrap Up – Game, Set, Love

As we cruise through the Fall season of movies for Hallmark, I’m really enjoying the movies. I do keep waiting for at least one of them to have literally ANYTHING to do about the Fall season or have some Fall decor, but until that happens, I’m happy to keep watching all the new movies! I really liked this movie a lot. It was cute and had lots of good feels to it, and it made me want to grab my tennis racket and go volley a few tennis balls! I enjoyed it much more than I expected, and I’m sure you will love it as well! Let me know what you think when you watch it! Until then, Happy Hallmarking!
